On the obverse of Canadian Maple Silver Coins, you will find, as with all Canadian circulated coins, the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II, along with the year and face value. The first issues featured a young image of the Queen; however, this was updated in 1990 to a more mature image of her highness.
On the reverse side of the Canadian Maple Silver Coin is the maple leaf, the national symbol of Canada. This reverse side also bears the word Canada and the purity of the silver content.
Minted by the Royal Canadian Mint in limited quantity and issued annually since 1988, the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coins face value is the highest among silver bullion coins at CA$5 and is the first minted coin depicting the latest official likeness of the Queen.
